Jim and Char Carey
When considering remodeling their home Jim and Char Carey
had several needs and desires they wanted to address. Among them were
replacing an unsafe spiral staircase with a conventional stairway, updating
their kitchen while bringing in more light, and remodeling their existing
basement family room. The problem was, they weren't sure what the best
was to do it or if it could be done within their budget. So they decided
to hire Master Builders to do some design work for them so they could
see what the new layout would look like and also what it would cost.
After several hours of meetings to review and revise designs over the
course of a few months, the Careys decided to have Master Builders add
a 12' x 26' two-level addition on to the west side of their home. This
allowed the space to build a safer stairway, expand and remodel the kitchen
and dining area, and expand and remodel the basement family room including
adding an office for Char. Here's what the Careys had to say about their

We are so very glad that we chose Master Builders for this endeavor and we love the results of all your hard work. My new kitchen is just superb and it passed all the tests for convenience and efficiency having been put to the maximum test this past holiday season. It looks just beautiful and everyone who has seen it agrees. We appreciated your initial patience with us during the planning phase with all the adjustments we made in the plans. Your understanding of our needs, wants and budget constraints helped us keep going when the task seemed overwhelming at times. You have excellent employees and we enjoyed getting to know them as the project progressed. I must admit that when the demolition/construction phase was finished we missed the daily presence to keep the mess to a minimum and the clean-up current. Doug was an amazing craftsman and had this incredible attention to detail that showed in all his work. Nathan kept on top of everything and took care of every issue or question we had during the entire project. We especially appreciated his extra concern about my health after the allergic episode that resulted in my little hospital stay the end of May. He and Doug made sure we knew exactly what would be happening each day and provided the advice to me about when it was safe to remain at home or when it would be better to spend the day away from all the activity. Thanks to their good advice I never had a recurrence. We are very grateful for the excellent subcontractors you involved in our project and feel that you have a very competent and reliable group of businesses to work with. Many of these businesses will remain on our personal list of folks to deal with when needs arise. We felt like we got the best service possible from all the contractors-it was easier being a client of Master Builders than just some private individual trying to get a project done and this made all the difference to us.
